Stuart is an experienced management and health care consultant, working at senior levels, particularly facilitating organisational design and transformation, multi-agency initiatives and national programmes. Stuart is presently the National Chair of the Scout Association of New Zealand and the Deputy Chair of a charitable provider of aged residential care and social services. 

He is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Health Management and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors. He is the New Zealand Assistant Honorary Editor for the Asia Pacific Journal of Health Management.

What would you describe as your area of expertise?

Helping make insoluble problems soluble. Bringing clarity and insight to issues that need a pragmatic path forward and collaboration by multiple parties.

Which projects are you most proud of? Why?

Ones where you see a sparkle of insight in the eyes of people you are working with. Sustainable change is about helping people to think and behave in new ways and insight is an intrinsic part of achieving the impossible!

Having fun with a team of amazing people who are passionate about making a difference.

What projects are you currently working on?

An Acute Flow Improvement programme for a District Health Board – comprising Emergency Department, Ambulatory Emergency Care, Acute Surgery and Frail Elderly.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Having fun with colleagues and clients – helping people to help people!
