Rosie has a background in health science, with a PhD in neuroscience and experience in scientific research. She made the leap to business consulting to see how her analytical skills would transfer into the corporate world, and discovered an interest in the people side of process change. Joining Francis Health gives Rosie the opportunity to combine all of these interests and experiences into one role.
What would you describe as your area of expertise?
Working with organisations to improve processes and implement change. Change management and human-centred design methodologies interest me the most.
Which projects are you most proud of? Why?
I’m most proud of a project with a leading financial institution in which a struggling IT transformation initiative was turned around, resulting in successful and sustained adoption of a new IT platform. I learned a lot about planning for change and how to nurture teams through the change journey.
How would you describe working for Francis Health?
Challenging in all the right ways! I enjoy being in my ‘comfort zone’ of health and medicine whilst being able to maintain objectivity (as someone with no direct clinical experience). I’m also happy to be working in a role that is focused on helping to improve a service that we will probably all utilise at some stage in our lives.
What projects are you currently working on?
I’m currently based at CCDHB working on Acute Flow – both in the Emergency Department and General Medicine work streams.
What is your Big Hairy Audacious Goal?
To help clinical leaders and their teams to put in place tangible and sustainable changes that improve both experiences and outcomes for patients.
