What would you describe as your area of expertise?
My core expertise is in sifting from complex data and varying perspectives key practicable changes that make a difference.
Which projects are your most proud of?
I led a strategic review of a large public health sector council that, with changes to the disease profile of the country, had become bureaucratic and inefficient, with extended decision-making processes and absorbing more resources than could be justified with its outputs. Amidst political sensitivity and resistance to change, I collaborated with the executive team and engaged stakeholders in reviewing alternatives for and then building a new strategy for the organisation -along with improved systems and processes. These have served as a basis for an invigorated, agile and relevant organisation.
How would you describe working for Francis Health?
Exhilarating. You are challenged to work at the top of capability 101 percent of the time - a rare and amazing opportunity.
What are you currently working on?
I’m working with the Rural Hospital Network (RHN) planning a summit to bring together rural hospital stakeholders to share common experience and identify strategic networking opportunities. I’m also writing up case studies that capture the secret ingredients to Francis Health’s success with facilitating sustained improvements to hospital length of stay, same day discharges and hospital admissions.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Working with vibrant and creative teams and clients - never a dull moment.
